Modern digital cameras produce large JPEG files which are normally far larger than needed or wanted when emailing them! With files at 5Mb or greater, it can take ages to send them, and to the annoyance of recipients, ages to receive them! Who hasn't been on the receiving end of a long slow email download with images that add up to mega-megabytes? Unless you need to send the original file, images can be resized without any loss of impact and create a significant improvement in email transition speed.
size4mail is an application run from a SendTo link in the Context Menu. Though once open, more JPEG files can be dropped on it.Select your memory card or camera with Explorer and pick the images you want to mail, then click on the SendTo link 'Size4mail'. Select the required maximum size and send - that's all there is to it! Selected images will be quickly and cleanly re-sized using re-sampling. There are six common fixed sizes and the option to specify your own sizing. Re-sized files are copied to a separate folder and the originals remain untouched. You can also sharpen the image - not normally required unless the output size is very small and apply a 3d frame to give the image a nice clean finish.
After re-sizing, your Email Client will be opened with the image files attached ready for you to complete the email and send it on it's way.
Now update to v2.1 - more options, better information and quicker operation.
It doesn't come any easier:
